Attorney Christopher Bent is the managing member of a respected boutique firm providing extraordinary legal counsel in Labor and Employment, Business, Real Estate and Trust and Estate Planning and Estate and Fiduciary litigation, arising out of the administration of Estate Plans. He focuses primarily on defending business and governmental entities against lawsuits, whether brought by an employee unhappy about a business decision, a vendor that refuses to honor an agreement, or a business partner that refuses to honor the terms of an operating agreement. He successfully defended a variety of employment discrimination claims, including a lawsuit brought against a municipality seeking in excess of $5 million in damages. A stanch advocate for justice, Bent was recognized by the Missouri Lawyers Weekly as having one of the largest verdicts in the State of Missouri and was listed in the Best Lawyer magazine.

He represents business owners in all types of employment litigation matters including race, religion, disability, gender discrimination, wrongful termination, breach of employment contract matters, wage and hour investigations, as well as violations of non-compete agreements. He has assisted business owners with the purchase of office building, restaurants, hotels, franchised business operations.

A substantial portion of Mr. Bent's practice is devoted to counseling clients on avoiding expensive and time-consuming litigation. He regularly counsels small and medium sized business owners and individuals in a wide variety of areas including: employment discrimination, severance agreements, non-compete agreements, business formation, including choosing the right business entity, drafts and negotiates employment, partnership and real estate contracts of all kind, and assists landlords with a variety of leases lease agreements for office space, warehouse space, retail space, apartment buildings and residential properties. He represents landlords in lease disputes, and files rent and possession and unlawful detainer, actions to enforce lease agreements.

Mr. Bent earned his law degree from St. Louis University and a bachelor's degree in political science and economics from Central State University. He is admitted to practice in Missouri, Illinois and various federal courts including the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri and U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of Illinois. He is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL) and Illinois Bar.
